This desk was designed to create a fully functional workspace within a compact footprint. Measuring just 130 cm wide, it offers a comfortable work surface while incorporating a low side return that serves as both a console and additional storage.
The main cabinet, made from walnut-veneered MDF, is supported by a solid walnut frame with deliberately clean, understated lines. Its top showcases a particularly rare walnut veneer, whose subtly marbled natural figuring gives the piece its distinctive character.
The three drawer fronts are crafted from a single sheet of quarter-cut walnut veneer, allowing the wood grain to flow seamlessly across the entire width of the cabinet.
The side return is finished in olive ash veneer, whose highly contrasting grain creates an elegant dialogue with the deep tones of the walnut. It also incorporates a traditional drawer, along with a lower shelf providing additional storage space.
All four drawers are handcrafted using solid ash, assembled with box joints and fitted with wooden runners, ensuring lasting durability while remaining true to traditional cabinetmaking techniques.
The entire piece is finished with a clear matte water-based varnish, providing long-lasting protection while preserving the natural appearance of the wood and enhancing the richness of its grain.
